Emerging Frontiers in Chemical Sciences (EFCS), launched in 2017 with support from Prof. T. Pradeep (Institute Chair Professor, IIT Madras) and Dr.. Santosh R. Nandan (Director, Ambernath Organics Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai), distinguished alumni of Farook College, is an annual conference series. The conference is intended to provide a platform for young researchers and science aspirants to communicate with international and national experts. This also aims to provide a link between the college and the outside world in the broader areas of chemical science. It will act as a forum to unite the chemical community in the region, spread across various institutions.
As part of EFCS, the prestigious Sulochana Nandan Lifetime Achievement Award, carrying a cash prize of ₹1,00,000, is presented annually to honour scientists from the Malabar region for their outstanding lifetime contributions to science and chemical sciences research.
The EFCS-Young Scientist Award, carrying a cash prize of ₹50,000, is also presented annually to faculty members and researchers from colleges in the Malabar region in recognition of their excellence and significant contributions to high-quality research in chemical sciences.
After successfully completing the 9th edition of EFCS conference series, the 10h EFCS and the sixth international conference in this series (EFCS 2026) is scheduled to be held on 01 - 03 December, 2026.
EFCS-2026 invites original research contributions in the form of oral and poster presentations from researchers, academicians, and industry professionals across all areas of chemical sciences.
